VST Expression

Hello.
My question concerns the use of samples. I recorded a track MIDI when I defined VST Expressions. Then, I affected these VST Expressions by creating controller’s track “articulation”. My problem is the following one: some VST Expressions, at level of identical swiftness, do not ring similar; the intensity can vary.
My question is thus the following one: how to proceed to balance the intensities?
Beforehand thank you for the answer.

You need to write a more specific question.

Like what instrument are you using?

By identical swiftness are you talking about velocity?

VST expressions are continuous controller messages?

Which ones?

Sounds like you would need to lower the velocity on the ones that are too extreme.

Need more concrete example, maybe some sound files with examples.

Lot of time by the time you write out a really good question the answer will be apparent.

Good Luck

I thank Tacman7 for its help;

Like what instrument are you using?
I try to answer.
For exemple : Concert Flute (EASTWEST Symphonic Orchestra Volume 2 Woodwinds)

By identical swiftness are you talking about velocity?
Yes, velocity

VST expressions are continuous controller messages?
These are « Expression Maps »

Which ones?
For exemple : SFL Keyswitch C0-F#0.nkm
C0 – sustain vibrato and F#0 legato with mod-wheel control

Sounds like you would need to lower the velocity on the ones that are too extreme.
That’s it the first problem. All these “Expressions Maps” are in the same MIDI track. How do we balance the sound levels?
The second problem: it is then necessary to follow the indications of nuances of a score

It is very complicated. I did not find a tutoriel to manage intensity in a work of orchestration in CUBASE.
After all, it is not better to place a single Expression Map in a MIDI track? If we use 4 Expressions Maps, to place 4 MIDI tracks for the same instrument?

Everything you do is in Quantum Leap plugins?

I’ve not used expression maps, I think it only works on plugins that are compliant.

What version of cubase are you using? This is the forum for old versions.

I would go over the process again to make sure you understand it completely, seems pretty complicated to me.

Lot of info out there:

Have you tried other peoples maps?
