I downloaded the latest version, but precount still does not save. What is happening is this; precount only works as a precount if the metronome and preroll is enabled, but when preroll is enabled it disables the precount, thus negating the save function when I open VST Live.
Correct, that is by design.
So how do i get an audible precount that will save?

tested on my MacMini and unfortunately itās not saving me āPRECOUNT stateā either, youāre right! Could you please re-ceck it @musicullum ?
Recipe: New project > default Song1 > activate Metro+PreRoll+PreCount > Save project > close > Reload project.
Result: PreCount āiconā getās back to disabled.
The actual problem is that PRECOUNT and Metronome active are mutual exclusive. PRECOUNT means that the Metronome is active exclusively when counting in in record mode. When you activate Metronome, PRECOUNT is automatically disabled, but the other way round was missing, added with the next version (activating PRECOUNT disables Metronome active).
In addition, PRECOUNT was saved as a local preference only. Thatās tricky, and as all other metro related values are saved with each Song, we changed that so that PRECOUNT is now saved individually with each Song as well.
Jeez, this is complicated - but users wanted the ācount in only when recordingā - named āPRECOUNTā, so we did

also somehow failed with reliable toggle - via MIDI track - METRO on/offā¦ meanwhile impossible to MUTE/unMUTE metro as there is no such button and also no AutomationTrackLink is available for METRO
When found @SDF 's post, did my best to understand his exact problem and found out, with METRO+PreRoll+PreCount active there is a new combination that might be practical in some cases:

It will be great to have a precount option in record and in play.
Automation ā Metro ā Volume. Yes, there is no mute, but with volume you can do the same.
Really want to mute Metro? Route it to Group and then mute Group using automation.
If @SDF wants to use four ticks like drummers do before some songs (not all), then yes, it would be nice to have a PRECOUNT state saved for each song. Everything else seems working as designed.
For playback you use PREROLL and PRECOUNT.
For recording you use COUNT IN and PRECOUNT.
The problem is only one - PRECOUNT state isnāt saved.
No, you canāt! 
think on it from an other aspect. As soon as automating volume, that gets āhardcodedā, however METRO volume needs slightly adjustments at soundcheck.
Rather listening it at Outro slowdowns then adding an extra group that is taking one more attention just for mute something

So I downloaded 3.0.46. Now Iām really confused. I canāt get an audible precount in record or play. At least in v3.0.45 and prior I could still turn on metronome and precount (even though it wouldnāt) save, it still worked. It gave me an audible precount and turned off when the back track started. Can someone please explain what I am missing or better yet am I the only musician that expects to have an audible precount so that everyone starts on the same beat and correct tempo???
Yes, there is something wrong happened to the precount functionality. Iām sure they will fix it ASAP.
