VST Live: Central / embedding storage of Hallion Flex Phrases into a VST live project file

Dear VST-Live-Team,

I am using flex-phrases for some special effects in some songs (e.g. the song “i love it” with falling tones).

For this song I prepared a flex phrase. It seems that I need to store the flexphrase locally on my computer in some hallion folders. That means some sound data is saved outside of the VST project file.

Would it be possible to save also flexphrases configurations embedded within the VST project file? This would help me extremly because I want / need to setup a backup notebook which I can take in case of any issues. It would help me a lot if I do not need to copy single files in some hallion-sub-folders which are stored outside of the VST project file.

I hope that I was able to describe my issue in a helpful way.

Thanks in advance for your support.

Kind regards

Sam

Hi Sam,

Flexphrases are integral parts of HALion/Sonic programs and, in consequence, are also stored together with them. VL has no doings with that.

Besides, why would you want to store them separately as part of a VST Live project? Maybe there’s a slight misunderstanding: In HALion/Sonic it’s possible to save Flexphrases separately for further use, but they will also save with your patches.

So if you want to use your custom HAL sounds on different machines you need to copy them which isn’t all to difficult using HAL/Sonic’s export feature.

Hope that helps.
