I downloaded the trial version of VST Live yesterday with enthusiasm, intending to migrate my concert setlist for this Saturday and configure all the layers and patches. However, during tonight’s final rehearsal, I encountered an issue where VST Live failed to launch successfully, remaining unresponsive despite multiple attempts to restart my MacBook Pro. This situation is quite concerning, as I am now limited to using only a digital piano without the anticipated virtual instruments. With the concert approaching this Saturday, I am seeking guidance on how to resolve this issue promptly. Should I continue troubleshooting, or should I revert to my previous software?
HI @Eric_Wong,
do you get any crash logs? Can we get them, please? You also could have a look here.

Now back to your main-problem. There is an option to delete the Preferences of the application. Then it should back working. Please locate the following file …
/Users/Your_UserName/Library/Preferences/com.steinberg.VST Live.plist
… delete it and restart your Computer. The Restart is important, because the Mac-System needs to flush the Preferences correctly.
Is it back working?
Michael.
After writing this post and I tried to launch VST Live again after a restart of my MacBook Pro. It launched successfully. So I continue to work on it and use it in my concert yesterday. Not perfect, but it definitely a great tools compare to what I have used before. Since I am new to this software, I still don’t know how to solve some issue. The most important one is to use a Virtual Pipe organ on two keyboards and an Volume Pedal. I can configure two layers in a part, abd each layer assigned to a different keyboard controllers. However, if I want to change a combination piston, the change won’t apply to both layers. Is it possible that I can configure a virtual organ environment that two or three keyboard controllers playing different manuals on the same Organ Instance. It means that I activate a combination piston change that covers all the manual divisions within a layer, also controlling the volume by a single Voulme/Expression pedal (CC11).
Hi! What version number you currently use?
I am using 2.1.10
Download v2.1.16, worth a try
vstlive.net
Thanks! Trying!
Try this: set up a layer for each keyboard and connect them to a virtual MIDI channel. Then set your VST input, on another layer, to the same virtual channel.
