I tried on a new project it works normally, it’s just in my big old project the automation on mixer inserts don’t work, even recording automation don’t receive it… strange, I never noticed because previous automations is made thru virtual midi and actions.
No prob, I’ll use alternative methods for now,
I wonder if there is a way to “reset” an old project beginning from scratch, to clean possibly corrupted save file. Maybe saving locally each song, then creating a new project and import all the songs back ?
automatic inserts started working with the preliminary version 2.1.26 appeared in the selection menu VST Live 2.1.26 Pre-Release is online
and therefore I think the best way would be to remove the automation tracks from the old project and create them again.
Better yet, wait for the next preliminary update, they’ll fix another bug regarding automation. 2.1.27 Bugs - #5 by Spork
And now just check at least one track of the old project’s automation without deleting everything at once.
On this topic.
On windows I can get VSTL to slave via MTC to another DAW(Nuendo) sending MTC thru a virtual MIDI port. But if receive MTC is routed on VSTL, then it automatically receives MTC and follows the Master transport.
It will be great if there is a toggle switch like Cubase/Nuendo which will enable or Activate the listen to for TC/MTC and then only follow the transport. @Spork@musicullum In a future release, will it be possible receive MIDI clock/LTC and slave to MIDI clock/LTC as well?
Which would be more accurate in terms of sync? MTC or MIDI Clock?
Midi Clock: Most probably not, sorry. LTC: possibly, but that is a completely different thing, and devices producing LTC almost always also produce MTC, which is essentially the same thing, as opposed to MIDI Clock.
Meanwhile connecting points/peers with arbitrary long audio cable to get sync is sooo convinient and practically-latency-free compared to MIDI cables (or rtpMIDI)
Correct. There are Song Pointer messages which carry position information. MIDI Clock itself sends 24 messages per quarter and from that, the receiver needs to figure out what the tempo might be.
MTC/LTC, because MIDI Clock is quite inaccurate, as numeric tempo information is not included in the stream.
Hi @Spork or @musicullum ! Could you please give me a hint how to trigger MediaPlayer via MIDI track?
Here is what checked w.o. success:
Goto Actions… find GlobalModule, add row
ROW NOT ADDED for further adjustments
Goto Modules to add row, ROW NOT ADDING.
Tried with Automation track, …
Opened a save of another Actions section hoping to modify with code editor… to customise it for GlobalModule but…
Quicks are activated for learning (via MIDI trk - VM) but can’t get the MIDICC received by the module QC
How to assign these “Quick $” actions?
Could you please help me with a hint? Need to solve this till 27th (+28th)
Would appreciate any trick
UPD: seems like a bug. Things are working on MAC correctly, I can add “empty” lines to Actions/GlobalModules, so I’ve ricked it out: created actions via MAC, Save/Load on Win,
Half Bingo
But, what do I’m missing to do to make it working?
In this example the MIDI Track is connected to “VM Out 2” and the Action for “Quick1” is receiving on “VM In 2”. The Action is a C2 Note to trigger “Quick1” which is triggering “Play” of the “Media Player”.
Yes! That’s what missing. We are trying to get it implemented for the next Pre-Release.
I’ve created a MIDI-CC entry (CC20) to pos 2.1. Rewinded Transport to Pos 1.1, Made Quick1 ready to Learn and started the Transport. The Action learned it
Thank you for your detailed explanation.
Despite of your step-by-step that is similar with my settings in my question (using just different CC’s…)… Can’t figure it out.
After adding row to WIN (by save/reload from MAC), “LEARN” working ,
but still can’t fire “Module PLAY”
I feel really bad… usually that kind of things are easy peasy things to me from all apects… can’t figure out what am I missing to do.
So here nothing obvious problem, that might be wrong, or?
Also having a similar issue here! Cant seem to trigger the module - but I also cant seem to add a row in ‘actions and shortcuts → global module’ for my global video module.
