VST Live Pre-Release 2.2.16 is online

… and it’s again : Friday! Wohoo! A new Pre-Release 2.2.16 of VST Live has been released. You can download it here. If you encounter any new bugs or notice any unresolved issues, please start a new thread and label it with [2.2.16].

This version contains two long-waiting requests:

App : Export Audio
It’s finally possible to create a mixdown (Wave, AIFF and MP3). Cycle Markers will be used for Start and End position. Those values can be edited in the Export-Dialog.

App : Edit Bars
And it’s possible to remove or add bars to your TRACKS project.

And of course we fixed bugs and improved workflows (Edit Controls not selecting Text. SEND controls not editable, remember last tab, …). More here

Thank you all for your help and requests. Please keep on. Have a nice weekend,
Michael.

Thank you! Now you can quite accurately and conveniently adjust the sends in the mixer.

wow!!

Just tiny idea, what if texting
“Apply At Bar” or “Process From Bar” (instead of “Start At Bar”)… somehow just to avoid term of “Start”

Were silently dreaming about long time (double click and edit controls)

aaand…If next time you are around the code … is it possible to make this below inline (not to wipe out current - with an annoying popup - just let me finetune the actual value in-line)?

Mixdown! Finally! thank you!

Woo hoo. Mixdown is a big one!
Thanks guys.
Now patiently wait for lyric background color selection. :crossed_fingers:

Hi, my excitement about this export audio function has just died down - because it is not working properly - it exports only one track (piano in my case, out of 8 or so tracks per song) - the same track is being copied in the two songs it was tested on. I wish it could allow flexibility to identify one or more tracks to export - not necessarily the whole mix - this would allow me to edit the individual keyboard tracks I recorded on VSTL.

On the Add Bars function - it works half-way: it correctly adds the specified number of bars at the indicated bar position. However, it lacks in two respects: (a) It does not add the specified time signature change (e.g. 4/4 to 3/4, etc), though a workaround to this is to add the time signature track and change it from there; (b) The “Process” button does not illuminate to show if it is selectable/selected, though it works - also, after processing there is no button/msg that pops up to say process is finished and the Add Bar window can now be closed: these, though, are just cosmetic proposed enhancements.

That’s true. “Type: Remove Bars” also doesn’t work properly.

…how so?

Serum 2 is now displayed correctly, thanks for that. What still hasn’t been implemented is limiting the layer zone to a single note. Another request I have is color assignment for the track. To access the color picker, you have to zoom in each time. Is it possible to move the color picker here (right-click)?

pls see duplicate here.

Great addition, while we are at it, is it possible to make readable and editable also meters/faders in Stacks?!? Example:

Thanks!! cheers, Ciro.

… that has been fixed. Please re-try with the next Pre-Release (2.2.17)

… yes, all controls need a hover. It’s on the list.

… you really need a Info-Message it was successful? You’ll see the result in the TRACKS-View.

Yes, sorry. There were bugs inside. It should be fine now. Please re-try it with the next Pre-Release (2.2.17), too.

Have a nice day,
Michael.

mega cool!

It’s strange for me to see midi volume with -21.32!?

For each layer: My request was to see audio volume from the vsti plugin and midi volume from the respective midi channel of the vsti plugin. I don’t know how to understand your solution. (Midi volume is displayed from 0-127)
I have switched off shared layer volume and share layer midi volume in the preferences, because I want to work very flexibly with the volumes, so it is important for me to always see both values.
If I think a little further, it would make sense to have the option of activating the shared midi and audio volume separately for each layer.
In cantabile there is a filter for each layer where you can switch many parameters on and off as you wish. It sounds a bit complicated, but it’s really flexible and a great feature.
I switched to VST Live 2 because of the many possibilities that this program offers and I haven’t regretted it to this day. I am aware that a program like this has to mature, as was the case with Cantabile.
