Hi

Just for info the new release 2.2.52 at Support/Download
When you press either Mac or Windows it goes to The page cannot be found (404 Error)

I guess this should NOT be a pre-release since it’s at the official download page.

Hi @SteinB,

Thank you. It’s fixed now.

Yes, we’ve decided to push this version to the public SDA.

See you,
Michael.

Thank you so much. Can you kindly provide video tutorials and updated user/reference manuals to guide us new-comers in the use of the application. @fkalmus did a wonderful video tutorial recently. Areas of immediate interest to me are (1) the actions and shortcuts feature, as well as (2) parts to trigger instruments, etc. Otherwise, we also need an updated manual that will include, as well, latest changes that have been made.

First thank you and thank you for the tip for upcoming ones :)) I promiss will do my best :smiling_face:

Can you tell a bit more about this (2)? I mean I understand but what is not clear to feel yourself confortable with?

Thank you for your prompt response. I want to be able to change/trigger instrument presets within parts to a song, such that when the song moves from part 1 to part 2, for example, then I should be able to automate change of the used instrument say from piano to strings, etc. Presently, my setup is automated through use of Global Layers and automated tracks, but I have automated their change using the “mute” instrument parameter. I use four different instruments: the piano that remains the same throughout the whole Seltlist, similarly, I also use three different instruments for soloing. I change these throughout each song using the track automation above - achieved through seperate automation tracks. This method is taxing on the CPU, I suppose.

Should not.

You could use Part Layers, and/or Program Changes?

Thanks, but I don’t know how to do that, hence my request for video tutorials and updated manual…

We are working on more tutorials, but creating and populating Layers is one of the most fundamental tasks in VST Live and well covered in the manual.

Create a Layer in Part 1, program the instrument say “Piano”.
Create a Layer in Part 2, program the instrument say “Strings”.
Switch between Layers will switch instruments.

Thank you. Where can I find these videos? The videos I last checked were on Youtube and were for starters. I now want more advanced ones, now that my knowledge has progressed a bit on the application.

let me guide you through with this in PM (because don’t think the pre-release announcement post is the right place for this)

When upgrading to 2.2.52, if playing a multipart song, the actually playing part is not highlighted (green). Instead the part where i started the song is highlighted, shows the dark bar until finished and then stays highlighted. This was fixed after complete uninstall/reinstall.

Furthermore, as a workaround to restart the current part, or switch to the next part, i send:
restart current part while playing: “Space → Down → Up → Space”
switch to next part while playing: “Space → Down → Space”
switch to previous part while playing: “Space → Up → Space”
I need these in case the band decides to play double length solos or misses a part, to sync the show back to my band. Is there a chance you can implement real shortcuts for those actions?

Another problem that is Version unrelated, but popped up since switching routers:
my iPads VST LIVE MODS (1. 50) only shows the correct title and lyrics but does not sync it when playing in LIVE. it also says “Offline” on the iPad, but Shows “1 Peer” on the PC.

Check FlexLoops. You can set loop to eternal and then apply “Exit Loop”.

This can also be solved with FlexLoops, even quantized to the beat (or bar, or whatever you set FlexLoops to).

Thank you, exactly what i wanted.
With enabled FlexLoop set to e.g. 1 Bar, my drummer just has to hit “Part > Next Part” or “Previous Part” within the correct bar for the action to be triggered.
I will eventually assign midi commands to those actions (Devices > Actions and Shortcuts…)

Whats still miss is an Action like “Restart current part”. Or did I miss it?
