a new Pre-Release 1.0.62 of the VST Viewer is online.
You can download it here . You also can find a Version History there. If you found new bugs or bugs which are not fixed, please create a new thread and title it with [VV, 1.0.62].
This version has added two improvements.
Add PDF File to VST Live Archive
The PDF file of the VST Viewer will now be added to an VST Live archive to transfer a project to another Computer.
Sync BEAK OUT Window Visibility
VST Live can automatically open and close Plug-In Editors if a part or song will be selected. For that the “Open Editor on Activation” control needs to be active.
But a problem was that this function did not work with the BREAK OUT Window. Now it’s possible to sync the Visibility of the BREAK OUT Window with the main editor.
The VST Viewer has a preference page at the About view. Where’s the About View? Just click to the vstviewer Logo on the lower right corner …
Updated to PDFViewer v1.0.62 and VL2.0.28 on my MAC (no touching WIN)
maybe I’m completely wrong and forgot how to use it properly, but as far as I remember, I could previously create
1pc GLOBAL VST Viewer that could
keep track with all loaded PDF files / songs.
EXAMPLE:
GBL PDF Viewer
Set PDF for song1
step to song2 and load another PDF
step back to song1 and only lastly loaded PDF file appears (that’s for song2) @Detgyver , we’re talking about a lot, I helped you how to use viewer for Global. You have several PDF files loaded. Can you check if I’m doing anything wrong or not, also please the OS u’re using (win/mac)?
you showed me to create a new Viewer Window and make it “global” so that it work for all Songs (and how to implement a Midi-Control for automated page turning during the song playback).
I am using Windows Pro 11 (Specs below)
I click on Song 1
I activate the “Globals” Button above the setli
The “new” global Viewer Window is empty.
I use the “Open” Button in the Window to load a PDF
I click on Song 2 (the viewer now shows the PDF from Song 1)
I use the “Open” Button in the Viewer Window and load another PDF
When I now click on Song 1 I see the PDF from Song 1
When I now click on Song 2 I see the PDF from Song 2
This only works when “Globals” above the Setlist is activated.
This works fine accross all my setlists. The Viewer shows the correct PDF-Files and thanks to @fkalmus I could automate the page-turn of the PDF via Midi so that I can see my notes in the Viewer correct.
Unfortunately this only works on my “Editor-Workstation” at home because the PDF-Files are note included in the Archive.
I can very well imagine that the solution needed here cannot be developed that quickly.
that sounds promising, but as I wrote under Windows no PDF´s and no extra folder “plugassets” with PDFViewer v1.0.62 and VL2.0.28 double checked that right now! But I am excited to get the next Preview Release in my hands. Thanks to all for the great support!
I’m very curious to see if anything changes with the preview release today. This function would help me a lot, but I’m afraid the problem won’t be solved that easily.
yes, sorry. We could reproduce it and it’s alreafy fixed. A new version of the VST Viewer will coming soon.
… we could only reproduce it with macOS. Windows is fine. Could you please re-test it again?
Ah, I see. Multi-PDF-Files are not added to an archive. Yes, that’s not supported at the moment. But we’ll add if, of course. Thank you for pointing to that one.
True with multiPDF archive,
but the appeared issue is about PDF / song at GBL_Viewer. (Exactly the same as happened me and probably to you under OSX). But as you say, it was working okay this week already, but today……
((setup is ready for gig and will start soon, can’t re-test now))
