I’ve just moved from CB Pro 12 to CB Pro 15, which feels great.
I note that VST2 stuff is now disabled by default. I understand that Steinberg are doing this to try and promote everyone moving to VST3 for good techincal reasons.
However, I still have a good number of existing projects with VST2 stuff which I would like to be able to work on for the foreseeable future.
What is the experience of others when enabling VST2 plugs/instruments in CB Pro 14/15 regarding the effect on robustness and reliability of Cubase operations.
Are there any showstoppers or even just niggles, or does it work OK with VST2 enabled. I realise this is a very wide question as it will depend on the quality of the VST2 plugs.
I’m just trying to get an idea as to whether it is viable to continue to work on those projects with VST2, or whether it is worth the time and pain up updating all those older projects to VST3 plugs, which I have for most things, but it’s not a trival change to make.
Let me know your thoughts from experience.
