Just downloaded demo. One of the plugins I use often is Serum. Under Preferences VST Plugins I see Serum in the list of allowed plugins. There is indeed a vst3 version of Serum on my Mac. It works fine in MuseScore, Logic, etc.
When I am on the Play tab and go to add a VST instrument, I see a list of plugin makers (Native Instruments, Reason, etc), but I don’t see Serum or its maker (Xfer Records).
What might be going on here? Is this a demo limitation? The plugin list shows 12 plugin makers alphabetical order ending with Reason. Does demo version force this 12 limit?
Trying to move from MuseScore to Dorico and really need to understand what is happening here.
The entry Xfer Records should appear in the list. If you have lots of instruments from many different vendors installed, the list might be too long so that some of the entries don’t fit into the display area. In this case you need to drag the list entries upwards using the mouse. If you have a touch screen, it’s also possible to use the fingers. Unfortunately, there are no scrollbars yet.
If it still doesn’t appear on the list, it could be because, for some reason, it has been blacklisted. You can open Preferences >VST plug-ins >Clear AudioEngine files and restart Dorico (it wil rescan all the VSTs in the system, it can last over 10 min if you have hundreds of them)
