Hi I am working in Cubase 10.5
Several of the VST3 plugins from Plugin Alliance dont load the presets. I have a yearly bundle with all great plugins BUT since day one, this problem is not solved since three month back. They have been trying with their own support but with no solution in sight. Yhe say its bizarre
Sometimes I can see the folders by following the Location Tree but cannot check the box to open it. Sometimes there is no folders at all and of cource have no presets to load.(See pics)
Some of the plug-ins seem to have the presets within the plug-in itself and in that case all is working as it should.
I have only installed the VST3 and not the VST2 because Cubase not supporting VST2 any longer, but thats ok with me.
All my others Plugins from other companies is working as they should, so, what kind of issue am I looking at here and how to solve it?
Hi,
I have 32 (I think) of the Plugin Alliance plugins, although I don’t have either of the two you show, and I don’t have this problem on Cubase Pro 10.5.0. Have you tried uninstalling, rebooting and then re-installing?
Also, the VST2 versions do work in Cubase and you could use them as a workaround until you get the VST3 versions working properly. It’s the 32 bit versions that don’t work, so make sure you install VST x64 versions if you go that route.
Hi!
yes all the steps has been taken.
Recently, P-A told me, the vst2 and vst3 plug-ins share the presets between them (I did not know) so I will try to install the 32 bits as well BUT, Cubase is not fond of that at all, many of the vst2 is blacklisted. I can reactivatel them but it do not seem to be the right way to do (even if I have done that with some other companys plug-ins) ( In the Plug-in Manager - Please Note: 32-Bit Plug-ins are no longer supported!
One morte thing is that Windows has used the ONEDRIVE parthway to my presets (ONEDRIVE comes with the installation of Windows mail)
No that issue is over because P-A gave me the right path to the presets;
right path,
C:\Users\name\Dokument\VST3 Presets\Plugin Alliance
wrong path:
C:\Users\name\OneDrive\Dokument\VST3 Presets\Plugin Alliance
But it still not working completely, in my early printscreens (PA—cant-find-presets.png), the folders with the presets will not open. Strange!
Yes, I’ve noticed that with some vendor’s plugins if there are both VST2 and VST3 versions (both 64 bit) available, the VST2 gets disabled/blacklisted. But you can re-enable these if needed. But yes, no 32 bit plugins at all now.
As for Windows mail/OneDrive… never trust Microsoft. If you need a good desktop e-mail client, try Mozilla’s Thunderbird. When I upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7 I spent an entire day turning crap off, uninstalling stuff and customizing settings to work efficiently, the way I wanted, and protecting my privacy.
DID YOU SOLVE THIS ?
AS I ALSO HAVE GRAVE PROBLEMS WITH PA VST…
NO PRESETS ALSO THE PRESET OPTION IS NOT ON THE PLUGIN BUT THE CUBASE ONE IS BUT NOT POPULATED.
HOW CAN WE TELL CUBASE WHERE TO LOOK FOR THE PRESETS ?
SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS LOCK …
t
Hi. No its not completely solved.
But Some PA plugins uses the presets within the plugin itself and therefore work.
I am still very annoyed about PAs presets in Cubase (I have Cubase 11 and running Win 10 pro)
there is a problem with Plugin Alliance and presets on Windows 10. I also only have the VST3 64 bit version installed and only a few plugins had the presets, so if you are in the same situation as me:
The solution is simple:
go to their support page and find the missing preset section - from there download all their VST3 presets (one download link) and copy them manually to the presets folder. Most likely the ones missing should be copied into folder Documents → VST3 Presets → Plugin Alliance
I finally found the resolution to this issue and I’m sharing in hopes that it will work for everyone else using Cubase Pro 11.
Download the presets from plugin-alliance, drag from your unzip file to here:
Windows 10 c:\User\your user name\AppData\Roaming\VST3 Presets\Plugin Alliance
replace all of the existing presets with theses when prompted. This resolved the issue for me and I struggled to figure this one out for hrs. Hope this helps
Just to help clarify. VST2 64-bit plugins still work in Cubase. The blacklisting only happens to VST2 32-bit plugins. When downloading VST2 In the PA installer it’s best to check only the VST2 64-bit versions to avoid problems.
Hi afrindian!
It seems a lot of the P-A plug-ins has no presets at all… I have followed all the instructions very well but still there is no presets in a lot of the plug-ins (still they work very well). But why is that?
I am using, as always, the path to load a preset, but though I can find the right path, there is nothing there. (In all Steinberg and many other producers plug-ins, there is always that way to get to the presets. Sadly not for the PLUGIN ALLIANCE.
I am only using 64 bit plug-ins. and I am using Cubase 11 pro, WIN 10, PC
//All the best
