I sometimes install a VSTI which I can select it in the VST Instrument panel, but it’s not available in the midi tracks. I works with fruity loops fine, but SX NS Cubase 5 I’ve had the same issue. Anyone know how to fix this issue?

Add Instrument track instead of MIDI Track. MIDI Track is (mainly) for use with external (hardware) synths. Instrument track is for use with Virtual Instruments.
Or add the Instrument to the Instrument Rack first (F11). Then you can route a MIDI track to the VSTi Instrument Rack.
