Wav Files upon import have slowee tempo than the file when not imported in cubase.

Hello,

I’ve been having a persisting problem with Cubase, where whenever I Import wav audio files, the wav file is slowed dramatically, reducing the tempo and/or bpm of the track. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
