yes. it does it on the montage page of a project I use constantly. all sounds are wave 16.bit.
I understand, from what you say, that is only happen with one montage.
Make a copy of the montage, and remove the clips one by one, to find if one if the origin of the problem.

I found the problem. The number of markers in the clip is more than it should be. That’s why it has difficulty opening audio files. When I deleted the markers everything was fine.
What is the reason for this?
How many markers? I tries both with a montage and an audio file having 1000 markers, and I note to speed issue at all. I am using WaveLab 12, though.
