Okay, I found out who the sinner is.
But no solution to the problem.
It’s the External FX plugin that does it.
I’ve done the detect latency roundtrip and all that, but it still messes up with the timing, when using the reference track, and the loudness Matching.
The funny thing is, that it works sometimes and I can’t figure out why. ![]()
I just updated Wavelab Elements 11.2 to 12 but it is not opening any flac or wav files. I did not have these issues with Wavelab 11.2 and am unfortunately not able to use the new version. Where can I download/install the codecs for the flac or wav files?
This will be fixed in update 12.0.10 in 2 weeks. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Hi.
I would like to use VST plugins with Wavelab (in ARA mode) in the DAW Reaper.
Another point, I want copy and paste (duplicate) a plugin in the master section and alternatively ear them (like Reaper). So could you add these functions, please ? Thank you. Best regards, Fred
If I get this right it’s already possible to use WaveLab ARA in Reaper

Yes, I know. But Wavelab in ARA mode doesn’t support VST, only the edition functions (cut, paste, fade…, no VST).
Since the DAW already handle VST plugins, WaveLab ARA does not. There is no plan to change this.
What do you mean with “alternatively ear them” ?
I wanted to use the Steinberg Maximizer in Reaper, thanks to Wavelab in ARA.
“Hearing plugins alternately” means listening to one, then deactivating it, then listening to the other. In Reaper, I can do this by selecting the two plugins and pressing Ctrl+B (on Windows). This is ideal for comparing two plugins.
In WaveLab, the reference track system (audio montage) can fulfill this task easily.
But this does not use the Master Section.
Great. How do you do it?
And is it possible to duplicate a plugin and all its settings easily?
The reference track system allows to compare different audio files or the same audio files with different plugin chains. Together with several options (new to WaveLab 12). This is a large topic that I don’t want to repeat here. Here the link to the manual, but you will also find video stuff online.
Unless I’m mistaken, this doesn’t allow you to switch from one plugin to another, but from one audio track to another.
You can achieve the same: you put the same audio on two tracks. And for each track you set a different plugin (or more). Then, when you toggle between the tracks (just one click), you hear alternatively the two versions without latency.
In my case it’s not practical. Thank you for your help.
I’m freaking enthusiastic about the new release. This is time for me to upgrade to the future. The video’s look awesome! Any idea when the trail version will become available?
Hi, we hope to get a trial version available soon.
Thanks for your contribution!
