I’m having big issues with the Wavelab 12 and the Reference plugin by MasteringTheMix.
I’ve loaded it into the effects session to reference my master inside Wavelab12 to other songs. When I try to load a new song or if I try to remove the plugin from Wavelab, Wavelab freezes completely. Sometimes though, it works for a couple of times and then suddenly not. So it’s kind of sporadical.
When the issue appears, it usually appears when I try to load a new song into Reference2 and then the loading of the soundfile is already getting stucked. So it’s not being successfully loaded into the plugin. When I then try to remove the plugin in that state, the freeze appears 100% of the time.
Hello. No not yet. The plugin doesn’t behave like this in all my DAWs I’m using. Neither Cubase, nor Ableton, nor Bitwig. So I guess it must be somehow related to Wavelab.
But then why is there no problem with other plugins?
When you have a problem with a plugin in particular, the first thing to do is to contact your plugin manufacturer.
WL has had a loooooooooong history of not working well with certain plugins. You can do a search on this forum and find numerous posts about this problem. Most problems can be traced back to the plugins not being tested with WL before release. Why the plugin developers do not do this remains a mystery. I would contact the plugin developer and ask if they ever tested their plugins with WL. I assume the answer will be “no”. FWIW
