There are extra podcast versions of WaveLab, in the 10th version of WaveLab I was also able to specify that I wanted to create a podcast, but in the 11th and now the 12th version I can’t find that.
Is the Pro version suitable for creating podcasts?
There was the option in the past, to create RSS Feed projects (called "Podcast’ in WaveLab 10, then renamed “RSS Feed” in WaveLab 11). This almost unused and old feature has been removed in WaveLab 12 (all versions).
@dimugi – If you’re asking if WaveLab is generally good for creating an audio podcast, the answer is absolutely - both the Pro version you mention and the WaveLab Cast podcast-production edition. It’s a world-class, robust production environment for podcasts.
I am one of the few users that loved that feature. So I was disappointed to see it removed from WL12. I understand the reasoning, but it’s unfortunate. And I do love WL12, happy to have upgraded to it, but that’s the one thing that was a downer.
However, I still have a license for WaveLab Pro 11 of course and I might have an unregistered license for Wavelab Cast somewhere, I’m wondering if you are planning on supporting and/or upgrading WaveLab Cast in the future? If I can’t find the WL Cast license to register, will my WL12 license allow me to run WL Cast so I can use the RSS feed feature? Or is that pretty much an EOL product line at this point anyway? Should I consider your foray into podcast RSS feed creation tools to be coming to an end?
Great to hear. Then it seems like there will be support for WaveLab Cast for at least a while. I’d be concerned with future OS issues like when Sonoma had caused issues with a lot of plugins and DAWs. As long as I can run the RSS feed features, etc., then I’m fine, even though you’ve removed those features from WL12.
So at least for now, sounds like WL Cast is going to be updated. I’ll dig around and see if I can find my unregistered license.
Right, either one. I upgraded my WL11 Pro to WL12 Pro so I assume I can still run 11, and perhaps, cross fingers, I can also run WL Cast if I can’t find my unregistered license.
I’ll try it out in the next week or two when I’m in between projects. Will report back. If it doesn’t work, it seems like it would be a reasonable feature request to make it so that WL12 Pro users should be able to run WL Cast too, right?
I’m creating/editing podcasts in WL11.2 and 12 pro and have no issues, I don’t specify the montage or audio file as a podcast specifically, but haven’t had a problem
I don’t use the RSS feed as much as I used to, to be honest, occasionally at most these days, so I embed everything using metadata instead, and specify the release date on the podcast host (spreaker, podbean etc) , but if on occasion I do need to use it, I’ll bounce any final into WL11.2 and use it in there, works fine
