Since a few weeks I have stability issues with Wavelab 13 Pro, at least when using montage-window.
First of all, the CPU-load is near 50% when “only” using Izotope spectral denoise. I think it was about 20% before when having this plugin in the montage.
The worst part is, thst it randomly crashes, even without any plugins loaded. The crashes happen when using the scissor to split clips.
I checked the dump-file but the only hint I can read out of it is something related to my memory. Can anybody help?
Thank you for the file. Unfortunately, the dump alone, while a bit useful, does not help.
I would need more details about the context, namely what you did exactly and what you did exactly before the crash occurred.
The crashes happen, when I cut a clip in two clips. Just hitting “s” on the keyboard.
Most time i duplicate the track before using a shortcut on my logitech mouse. But today it definitely was just hitting “s”. And today it was just two tracks, 10 clips in the mono-audiomontage with 48kHz.
I see that there are many dmp-files from the last four days, if it helps I can send them too.
Yesterday I did all possible checks regarding computer health (Ram, ssd, CPU, graphics) and eyerything is fine.
I checked the bios for any changes but it still has the “optimized for DAW”-setup.
I did also update every possible driver and firmware (including bios). But as it seems, that did not help.
one more thing to mention, as I had several crashes today.
Wavelab crashed when using the “s” key to split the clip AND often when hitting the “delete”-key to remove one highlighted part of the splitted clip (after hitting “s” to split).
Setup: Stereo Montage, 48kHz, 32 bit float, no plugins loaded, only two or three stereo-clips that have to be split and aligned, Project-length about 90 minutes.
(Never happend with wavelab 12, and - when I remember correctly - did not happen in the first weeks/months after changing to wavelab 13. No hardware-changes since wavelab 12, only windows- and driver-updates.
I hope you can help!
Thank you and all the best
Simon
sorry to bring this post up again in this frequency but I have something new to report:
Most crashes happen when I use the delet key to get rid of a clip that i cut before.
Today I worked about 2 hours without crash, now it crashes every 10 minutes (in the same montage, nothing changed).
And also a very interesting thing happens. Even if the project is saved before the crash, the montages within the project are all mixed up, when restarting the project. As I work with speeches and the montages have the date as a name and are placed chronologically after each other within the project, I get them all mixed up after the crash and would have to drag them around to get the chronology working again. (what I don’t do as it would get messed up again within 10 minutes)
