Dear forum members,
Recently I bought a legal (including serial code) CD/DVD of Wavelab LE 9.5.
I just can’t get it to work on my windows laptop (windows 10 pro, 8GB ram, i7 and 64 bits)
I first installed the trial of Wavelab Elements 11 and this one works perfect. Then I bought a 2nd hand legal Wavelab LE 9.5 in a store.
No matter what I do (tried 2 times to installed) I can’t get it to work.
When I try to enter the code I get an error message. My code starts with 11. Where should I start and what’s next?
Maybe one of you can help me get it working. To be honest, I’m actually just a beginner. So please don’t be too hard on me
Please provide a simple step by step guide…
I can send you pictures of what I currently have.
I’d love to hear this. Thank you very much.
Regards, Rich
Do you have the USB key? You will need it to run 9.5.
Hi Thomas,
The seller indicated that a USB key / dongle was not necessary (
)
But i don’t have it… How can i get this one?
I’d contact the seller and ask for the dongle, if he doesn’t have it I would ask for a refund.
The copy you have ( if it’s legit ) should have been registered already.
Hmm ok the one that i have here is a original CD/DVD from Steinberg wavelab.
So than i need always a USB dongle? IS there no other options to use Wavelab LE 9.5?
Yes, It came with a dongle, without it you can’t run it.
The seller has to transfer his ownership to you and give you the dongle, if he does transfer the ownership to you, then I believe you could buy a new dongle.
So if he hasn’t I believe you are screwed and you can’t buy the version you have, you would have to buy the latest version which doesn’t use a dongle.
Steve or someone could verify what I’ve said is right or add something else.
WaveLab LE 9.5 used the Soft-eLicenser by default. You could put the license on a USB-eLicenser if desired, either initially or transfer it at a later time.
You say you purchased this second hand. You also say you purchased it from a store. From where exactly did you make the purchase?
One way or another, you are not supposed to sell an OEM license unless it is being sold with the hardware it came with.
It’s highly possible that the license has already been activated and you got scammed. I hope you didn’t pay too much for it.
What happens when you try to insert the code in the eLicenser Control Center app? I believe it should be an activation code and not a download access code, correct? Or you should be able to do it directly in your MySteinberg account.
What did you try? Details always help
.
tried 2 times to installed
but to all. I did it (don’t ask me how
I got it running. It was a special CD/DVD from the magazine ‘keys’, so you can get it working without a usb dongle. Thanks everyone for the thoughts and help.
That sounds very “fishy”. Good luck!!!
@Thomas_W_Bethel You took the words right out of my mouth.
I was going to post something more cryptic but your post conveys the point.
