I have having an issue that the top mac menu bar completely is transparent but if you click anywhere on the top menu then the menu options do show up just invisible left menu bar. the clock and battery is visible on the right side. I did this test on 3 macbook pro M4 Max and M3 Ultra same issue.
Hi!
Perhaps in full size/screen window mode ?
or I don’t understand the issue!

Can you show a picture to see what you mean?
On the top screen in macOS there is the main menu bar with the Apple logo, File, Edit,View, Go, Window, Help. So when and not always run Wavelab that menu bar is transparent and the words are also transparent. But if you click it anyways then the words show up.
This is how top menu bar normally should look like

Since you are the only person that has reported this problem so far, I guess you must be using some kind os sytem-wide utility that interacts with WaveLab.
Any idea?
Could you solve the problem?
I have the same issue.

No the issue is still happening. Usually after scanning new plugins. 5 macOS computers same issue on all of them.
PG1 said I am the olny one having this issue.lol Clearly not.
Well, PG1 did not say that. He said that only you have reported it so far.
Thanks for the info.
No, you are clearly not the only one…
Maybe screen resolution e.t.c ?

it is not a resolution issue. this happens when the Ignore Updated Plug-ins when performing plug-in Detection check box is selected in the Preferences window.
If this box is selected then right before wavelab pro 12 opens, there is a brief flash of another window that is searching if there are any updated plugins. Then right after this window the top left portion of the menu is transparent and you cant see what you are selecting, it is there but just transparent. This is affecting the whole macOS. Only a restart will fix it.
I unchecked this box and it does not search for updated plugins and the menu bar is visible.
So I called Steinberg tech support to only find out from them to just deal with this bug. What an embarrassment. no help or any troubleshooting help. I regret so much on buying Wavelab pro.
I think it’s because your wavelab application is not at the foreground. The menu bar will match the current foreground application, at some point where there was not particular app, it was “finder”. It’s been many year I did not use a mac, and it may have changed.
I think you should have the proper wavelab menu bar by switching to wavelab as an application with the alt+tab equivalent on mac (command+tab).
It’s not a bug. Maybe you clicked on the desktop to select a folder or a file, operation which switched to finder and put wavelab as background application. What you need to do is to drag the files/folder over the wavelab icon in the dock to put it at the foreground again.
I wish it would be this simple. This is not the issue you mentioned. It is not that the Wvelab Pro toolbar is not visible but tht the whole menu bar even the macOS menu bar disappears and it transparent. I cant even click on the Apple logo to restart or shutdown the computer as the mac os menu bar is transparent. You have to quess on the location to click it and then the sub menu will show. And then I can click restart/shutdown. This only happens when Wavelab starts up ab}nd scans for new plugins and right after the scan is when this happens.
I did a search in Google and got this answer check this
“Your Mac menu bar is likely transparent due to macOS’s built-in
Reduce Transparency feature, which you can turn off in Accessibility settings, or it might be a visual bug from a recent update, fixable by toggling Dark Mode, restarting, updating macOS, or resetting your menu bar settings. For a fully transparent look, ensure “Reduce Transparency” is off and consider using a wallpaper with a bright top.”
Solution 1: Adjust Accessibility Settings (Most Common Fix)
-
Open System Settings (or System Preferences on older macOS).
-
Go to Accessibility.
-
Click on Display.
-
Toggle the “Reduce Transparency” option to OFF to make the menu bar less transparent (or even fully opaque/solid). Turning it OFF makes it less transparent, while turning it ON makes it more transparent/blank, so check your current setting and flip it.
there is more if you Google…

Yes I tried this too and it made a dark menu bar but the issue still happens on the dark bar with transparency off.
I have also found that when this happens on my macbook pro and if I change the resolution then the OS menu bar returns. But this only comes back on the macbook pro. On my M3 Ultra and external monitor this does not work, I have to reboot for the os menu bar to return.
This is how it looks right after scanning for plugins and then the top Bar left side become transparent.
This is with Reduce Transparency engaged. Same issue bar is gone.
After i change the resolution back and forth on Macbook Pro the bar returns, but it does not return on a external primary monitor on my M3 Ultra on my 2nd setup.
Hopefully this will help understand.
Why is not Steinberg people not helping in this matter? So sad and 500 bucks wasted.
