WaveLab Pro 9.0.25 won't start

Hello,

I was running WL 8.5 on windows 7 fine. Then I got WL 9 last week on Windows 7. WL9 worked well for a day or two. Then I went to open a project I was working on and WL 9 would not open past the first screen (that asks “Open Last Project?, etc”)

But I was able to finish the project in WL 8.5.

Today I upgraded to Windows 10. Now neither WL 8.5 or 9 (64 or 32) will open past first screen. I tried running as admin and different compatibility profiles too.

Izotope RX opens and plays back audio through the same interface.

My eLicenser performed its maintenance tasks and seemed to update itself fine.

I uninstalled Waves plugins just for the heck of it.

I uninstalled WL 8.5. I reinstalled WL up to 9.0.25

I still have my old HD so I can run WL8.5 on Windows 7 to get by for now.

Thanks everyone ahead of time for your suggestions.

After hammering on this a little more:

I deleted the Wave lab 9 preferences folder, then re installed WL64 (on more time!) and it works!

Not to duplicate information (this is in the FAQs) but this may help others who search here. To find the WL preferences on windows:

type ‘run’ on windows search bar and then type %appdata%/Steinberg

This will show you the preference files for your different versions of WL. I just deleted the whole WL9 folder because I did a full reinstall.
