Anybody else experiencing this? Everything was fine on 9, but since upgrading I’m getting very slow response times, even just setting volume points and dragging them around. No plugins, no processing, nothing else running on my machine.

By chance did your machine do an OSX update at about the same time? FWIW … we have a few Macs and 10.12 suddenly and mysteriously rendered them all lagging on most applications after an update. These are mainly administrative/QC machines so I’m talking about spinning beachballs on microsoft office for mac apps even. High Sierra “fixed” this but of course not much runs on that yet.
This OSX performance issue will be fixed in the soon coming WaveLab 9.5.15 update.

Yes,… or almost.
on my HP Z800 Dual Xeon 24gb Ram etc Wavelab 9 and Cubase 9.5 were fine and now the two upgrades are laggy
