Has anyone else noticed Wavelab running in the background, in task manager after it has been closed? I definitely have.
If I open Wavelab and use it, it stays open in the background after I exit the program. I noticed this about a month ago. I never noticed it before because I never had a reason to look for it before. I just happens to notice it while task manager was opened. So I decided to start checking task manager after every use of Wavelab, and sure enough every instance is still running in the background in task manager. If I used, for example, 4 times that day, there are 4 instances of it running in the background in task manager. They will continue to build up every time I use Wavelab unless I “end task” in the task manager. It’s very strange and I was wondering if anyone else has noticed this. If you haven’t noticed it before, start checking task manager and let me know if it does this for you as well.
I’ve never seen this issue before, and I check Task Manager often. I’m on Win 10 running WL 12. I didn’t think it was possible to run more than one instance of WL at a time. Could there be a plug in or WL background process running that doesn’t let WL shut down completely? Sounds more like a Windows issue actually.
It could be that you’re on Windows 10 and this is an issue with Windows 11.
When I use Wavelab I use Ozone 12 all of the time. I can’t see how that would cause Wavelab to hand in the background. I’ll take a photo of task manager tomorrow so you can see what I’m talking about.
When WaveLab exits, it must unload plugins from memory. At this time, some plugin code is executing, and a hang could occur if a plugin bug occurs. I don’t say this is your case. But this is a possibility.
I just had this happen yesterday. Never before…but WL refused to close and was still running in the background. I was NOT using any plugins and just listening to a track. I am using Windows 10 with all the updates and running WL 13.0.20. I had to use the “task manager” to close WL. Weird
Huh, so this could very well be a Wavelab issue. Next time I’ll leave it open for 10 minutes with a file opened in it, then shut it down and see what happens.
