Wavelab will not release files

I close a file and then I want to move it from one folder to another with WL still open but my Windows 10 says the “file is in use in another program” and will not allow me to move it from the folder. I have to close down WL completely in order to do this. This is the only DAW that does this. Is there a reason for this???

Disable preview pane

That happens in Cubase too and even after closing it. It takes minutes before you can move files and folders or just bin them. I think it’s more of a Windows thing rather than Steinberg software, though this is just my guessing and It might be confirmed by someone using osx .

This problem was addressed by PG and was fixed in the new update, when preview is disabled, files that were closed by WL can now be moved anywhere. I just opened a file, closed it and moved it to another folder of my PC.

I don’t know if this is your case, but in upcoming WaveLab 12.0.50, I have fixed an issue concerning a file remaining opened in WaveLab. The issue could happen when using the “Save As” (audio file) from the WaveLab file browser.

It looks like a behaviour in Cubase. When I backup a project to another folder and after closing Cubase I want to replace the original folder with the new backup, windows doesn’t let me do it, I need then to wait some minute in order to have it done (move or bin the original while I can move anytime the backupped folder).

That was my problem. Thanks for getting in fixed.
