I’m using the Waves CLA plug-in collection. Specifically CLA vocals and CLA guitars. The metering is lopsided when receiving a stereo signal. I think its a graphics glitch as the sound comes out of both speakers. Happening in Cubase Pro 15.0.6 and Nuendo 14.0.41 is anyone else using these plug-ins? Thanks
Hi,
I can confirm this behaviour (Cubase 15.06 Win 11):
I dragged a vocal sample by Bloom into the project and tested it with the first three presets of CLA vocals Stereo/Mono. Definetly lopsided, even with the plugin bypassed. It doesn’t happen with “CLA vocals Stereo” - same presets, everything’s fine.
Have you checked these plugins with other Cubase versions? Either way, you got to contact Waves - it’s on them to fix it, not Steinberg.

@Adralicus Sorry, I got it all mixed up. See my post below, please ![]()
Their screencap shows they use the stereo version though doesn’t it?
Is there really a Stereo/Mono version? I thought they generally had mono or stereo and sometimes the mono are described as mono/stereo as they are mono in, stereo out.
Using that version it may only intend to show the channel it’s using as input rather than both meters working. Not sure, just a thought…but likely not that helpful either way.
Is the output definitely keeping the stereo width and balance though…..I would double check it’s not summing to mono or taking only that left channel then splitting it to both channels…..a bit of panning of source will tell you.
Good catch! You are right @Grim:
is actually called Mono/Stereo and not the other way round (I am such a goof) and it is indeed Mono TO Stereo. Oh my… Not only did I accidently rename it but as a consequence I also looked at it under a wrong premise.
Following the correct logic both plugin versions (Mono/Stereo and Stereo) work as expected on both mono and stereo tracks!
I will cross out my previous statement accordingly (in silent shame).
For the sake of completion: Here’s a screenshot of the OP’s preset running on my system - everything works as expected.
Hi
Did you put CLA on STEREO track?
You need to change truck to STEREO , even if audio still mono
Then all must work in right way
I found the problem I imported the project as an AAF and although all the tracks were in stereo for some reason it created mono tracks for them which I didn’t notice so I’ve changed the tracks to stereo now and all is fine. Thanks for the feedback much appreciated.
All Waves plugins have a mono version, a stereo version and a mono to stereo version. That’s because ProTools is still stuck in 1995 when DAWs couldn’t have one type of track that was all three.
