Wavlab Newbie Increase Snare and Base Drum Presence

Some great Videos out there on How to Use Wavelab, trying to find one on how to make your snare stand out, maybe the base drum too, without messing up the surrounding sounds. I have tried Master Rig and Frequency 2, can anybody give me some guidance on those please. Should i do this in the Audio Editor - Permanant or in the MONTAGE.

I even though of going back to Cubase Mix to sourt it out, but i think that defeats the object.

Any help appreciated, thank you.

Dave

I don’t think there’s a WaveLab video on how to make your snare stand out because that’s really a production/mixing thing, not mastering or post-production, etc.

Ok Justin, i thought that might be the case, whats the ideal frequency for snare drum adjustment in your opinion?

Dave

There is no way to answer this without hearing the song, and I don’t think you can boost a certain frequency to make the stare drum more pronounced in a stereo mix. Everything affects everything.

If adjusting the mix is not an option, some source separation tools found in apps like Spectralayers could help you isolate just the drums or certain drums so you can alter them in more advanced ways but WaveLab alone is perhaps one of the last audio tools I’d reach for to increase drum presence specifically.

Ill check out the EQ plugins again, and then Ill go back to the mix, its not a big deal, i though i may be able to sort it in Wavelab.
