Weird automation glitch

I won’t call it a bug, it’s only happened once, I wonder if anyone else has seen it?

I wrote some volume automation into a channel in real real time, moving the fader.

When I stopped the recording (at the end) the automation lane stayed red, and I can’t do anything with the automation points which were written - can’t select or delete or move them. And the automation isn’t working on that channel. The Write and Read buttons still apparently toggle, but don’t function.

Everything else is fine.

Just remembered that between the previous save of this project and experiencing this glitch, I went back from C8.0.3 to 8.0.2 (because of some projects crashing on loading). Having said that, the project was started on a much older version (C6? can’t remember, late 2013).
