Weird channel grouping markers- need your help

Hello Community, Steinberg support,

I’m facing a relatively new problem with CB 13 PRO. In some projects, when I try to select a channel in the main project window, it jumps away to another channel I did NOT want to select. I saw, that some channels have a small white bar (same in the mix console window).

All type of tracks (channels) are affected.

The only way to tompoary deal with this issue is, to create a new empty project and import all channels/tracks from the faulty project in to the new project.

Can someone tell me, where the white track markings come from, and what they are meant for?
And how to get rid of them?

I’m a Cubase user since Atari ST times.

Thanks

These are used to show which tracks a MIDI Remote surface, or even a Mackie-type controller, is controlling. Mind asking which controller you’re using?

Hello m.c.

I’m using a Nektar Impact LX88+ and a Cakewalk A-800 PRO

Ok, Nektar at least, is using a special setup as far as I know, and this should create these white lines. However, I don’t think this would cause the issue described. Maybe you have another custom midi remote setup? In either case, what happens if you deactivate both your controllers (physically and/or by setting the midi ports attached to them to none, and disabling any midi remote surface)? If the issue persists, then the cause is somewhere else, and unfortunately I can’t be of help, though surely other users may be.

Hello m.c.
thanks a lot for your advice. I will check if that might be the cause.

Have you selected additional outputs from a VST instrument?
These are not visible in the project window by default.
