What are the new features, to be included in N14?

I am curious, as to what might be included in Nuendo 14, since I know some features will come from C14 but will Nuendo have anything new, that Cubase doesn’t have and can anyone say anything with any certainty?

I can say that we can’t say anything until there’s an official statement.

Cubase 14 stuf fyes - I anticipate more work on the Atmos sid of things to streamline things perhaps. hopefully it will co-incide with enhanced work on the score editor Dorico integration. But nothing has been announced for sure as of this time

I gaze into the crystal ball, furiously rubbing the copper lamp like a budget fortune-teller at a sci-fi convention.

By version 14, AI tools will have matured, and once Nuendo finds its footing, it will reign supreme as the undisputed house of dialogue. By 15 and beyond, it will edit, fix, generate probably even whisper sweet nothings to your audio files all with eerie precision. Etcetera, etcetera.

And perhaps by version 16, it will simply assemble dialogue using voice commands, brew you a cup of coffee, and come with a built-in universal translator to send and receive entire timelines across finishing systems just in time for singularity to roll in and make us all obsolete.

Hey! Don’t knock sci-fi conventions! I met my favorite Star Trek actors there!

You’re just going to leave us hanging???

I don’t want to take us off topic, but let’s face it, we will not be getting any spoilers out of Steinberg.

They run a tight ship, kind of like Captain Picard.

Steinberg won’t betray their code of ethics either, kind of like Commander Riker.

And Steinberg won’t bend to psychological manipulation, kind of like Lieutenant Commander Troi.

And of course Steinberg will remain logical and yet strive to be in touch with their humanity, kind of like Lieutenant Commander Data

And lastly, perhaps most importantly, we’ve got to keep in mind that Steinberg is one of the OG DAWs and yet still known to be a rebel from time to time, much like Captain Kirk.

But yeah, I would rather not distract from this thread though! :joy:

I have the entire change log list and will post all the info here if anyone would like. Just remind me in June or so.

Is there any information, at all in relation to what Artificial Intelligence features may be added during the V14 product cycle?

My guess, is that any new AI features will more than likely relate to pure audio functions, rather than MIDI or anything else like dialog, simply because that is what every other DAW will initially offer but naturally, Steinberg will do it in a way that will set the standard for others to follow.

I am curious about this, in that is it likely that .xml export, will work with other programs and interpreters?

Of course, I could offer some examples, but it’s never worked for me in any other program or web interpreter library that I’ve found, so I just use off-the-shelf notation packages with a .mid export instead.

Any word when Nuendo 14 is going to be announced in March?

I heard we will get a free audiobook titled something like " how to get through another 100 episodes of a show you hate, but it pays your bills".
Joke aside, but it may be usefull

Yes there was.

We’re in the first week of March now, so hopefully there should be some more information soon.

I know there was NAMM and nothing seemed to happen there, which makes sense as Cubase was what was previously announced but I am wanting to know if there are any new features specific to Nuendo, besides what is in C14.

Some of the new Cubase features look great, as worthy additions to the platform but what will make Nuendo even greater and more unique in DAW world.

70 percent of all presentations at NAMM 2025 this year were dedicated to artificial intelligence.

What do you mean by “presentations”?

Certainly wasn’t the case in Hall D except for a few of the teeny tiny booths lining the walls.

70% of presentations in Hall D were, imo, dealing with the welcome site of zillions of yellow vu meters. Down to earth real intelligence there.

I don’t recall ai as a buzzword upstairs in the Yamaha ballroom.

I didn’t check out the tuba area in Hall A. Perhaps I missed something there or at the back area of blasting drum sets.

I looked through the online offers with the presentations of the NAMM 25, I was not at the NAMM myself. There were a lot of them with AI.

One suggestion, I can personally make in relation to potential new features, is using Artificial Intelligence (AI), we can place our sounds in a single room and adjust reverberation parameters via a single plug-in interface, using the Steinberg SDK, someone can make a new kind of effects system that relies on VST but is not only in Steinberg software.
