What are the VST3 advantages?

I miss the full potencial of many plugins which are not VST3 because in Cubase i can’t use SideChain feature in a clean away has it is implemented in other DAWs, and most of those plugins don’t support VST3 version. In order to use SideChain with VST 2.4 plugins we have to use Quadro Tracks which are a “pain the ass” , ugly, confusing and repellent, but is the only way that i know to make them work.
So i am curious which are the Advantages of VST3 in the User Perspective, aside being able to SideChain Easily? Why Developers should care so much about VST3? Why not easy Sidechain with VST2.4 too if other DAW do so?

I think another advantage is that they stop using CPU/ASIO when not actually processing audio.
