What can I do about Nuendo 14 upgrade

My fault but I thought why not buy the upgrade to 14 since it’s on sale and a free copy of 15 comes with the purchase when it’s released. I already own 14 but I had 13 so I figured I would buy a 14 upgrade again. When I went to register the 14 upgrade it said I couldn’t because I didn’t have a compatible product because I had already upgraded 13.

When I contacted Steinberg there solution was to ask Sweetwater sound for a refund. As expected they said no to a refund. Ok I am to blame but here is the thing. Steinberg has my money so why not give me a credit so I can apply the credit to the upgrade? I can’t sell the upgrade serial, I can’t use it and Steinberg has my money.

in retrospect I sound like a goof even to me…but I am asking if anyone has a real suggestion to resolve this issue. It might be that I just have to eat the $139 but I am hopping for a compromise or some pity.

Welcome to the forum. I’m not sure I would “expect” this. Steinberg can prove the DAC was not used, so Sweetwater should give you a refund. Like many folks, I have a dedicated SW rep, and I can’t imagine they would try something like that unless it’s been 30+ days.

And it’s not really that SB has your money, it’s that SW does - they’re the reseller. I’d get hold of a manager at SW and try for the refund again.

I’m pretty sure you can try to sell it on Knobcloud. You might have put a bit of a discount on it.

Well, sweetwater pays steinberg so they have some of my money  I will try but sweetwater has a no return policy on software for awhile and generally when I buy software there is usually a reminder there are no refunds and you have to click agree. I do like your idea and I have a dedicated SW that I have had for I think 20 years. I won’t be mad if they won’t.

Its not a bad idea and I would be willing to sell for $100 (or that might be too high). Althought I got rid of my paypal acount years ago.
