I was looking at the Cubase 12 version comparison PDF, and I noticed something odd: there’s a field labeled “MixConvert,” but no version of Cubase seems to actually include it. This also seems to be the case for Cubase 14. So, what exactly is MixConvert, and why does it seem to have disappeared?
Also, can anyone explain the difference between “HALion Sonic SE 3 - Content” and “HALion Sonic Selection - Content”? Both are available for me to download, but I’m not sure if they interfere with each other or if there’s a specific purpose for having both (or if it’s just plain useless to have both).
MixConvert V6 is a plug-in in Cubase that allows you to convert one multichannel audio source into another multichannel destination. It’s commonly used to downmix a multichannel surround mix into a format with fewer channels, such as converting a 5.1 surround mix into a stereo mix1.
The MixConvert V6 plug-in panel lets you set the levels of the surround channels and solo or mute channels for both input and output. This makes it a versatile tool for managing and converting audio formats within your projects.
I think someone just didn’t fill in the chart. The plug-in is in Pro 14.
So I asked the AI and it said it’s Pro only.
And then it got a bit weird. It went on to say that it might have been removed from Pro 14. I already knew that it hadn’t been, so I followed its reference link which took me back to this very thread - which is only a few days old.
