What is the best workflow for this?

I need to combine 2 mono files to a stereo file where each is an independent channel.
I can do this using a montage by adding files to adjacent mono tracks and rendering them but I was wondering if there is a faster way to do this, especially since I need to do this procedure to hundreds of files at a time.

I would proceed as follow:

  1. Create empty montage with a single stereo track
  2. Drag each pair of mono file and drop on the track.
  3. Do this for all your pairs (that’s the boring task). It does not matter the gap between the clips, but there should be one.
  4. Use the Render dialog, option “Selected clips”. This will render as many files as there are clips, in one operation.
