What is with this quantization?

I was wondering why a part that sounded in time beforem when I came back it was way off and and I went back some steps I see that some quantization meant to make a few notes more accurate for scoring, moved others off beats in a nonsensical way, ruining the rhythm. I undid. Here is before and after to 16ths

Then after Q

Sometimes, when I quantize, if the quantize say in 16ths, Cubase moves some notes that are sitting perfectly fine on quarters or eights, back a 16th.

It may have been the case that you accidentally entered the keyboard shortcut to quantize and this issue occurred.

I do use Q to quantize, but this is the 1st time that quantizing moved notes that were solidly on quarters or eighths or even sixteenths, to new, wrong positions. After undoing, I repeated the process to see what was going on and it did again. Makes no sense to me.

Please check your time signature and see how it interacts with 16th notes.

Yeah, it’s the same thing here. When this happens, I have to select the notes that I want to quantize on 16ths, and I then quantize them individually. It’s a real pain when this happens.

What happens if you use Reset Quantize?
