I have no idea what this is, it makes sound, it moves with my cursor and I can’t make it go away. It appears all of a sudden withoiut me doing anything I’m aware of. I heard people talk about the mysterious orange square here before, but didn’t understand what it was.
It moves with my mouse pointer (trackpad, but anyway: it sticks with the mouse pointer and I only get it away by quitting Dorico. What is this. Nothing in the screen is highlighted or giving any clue. HELP!
It looks as if Dorico thinks you want to drag notes to a new position. If that is what this is, press the ESC key to see if that dismisses the option.
If you never want to drag notes around with the mouse, you can disable this by deactivating Enable note pitch and rhythmic position editing using the mouse on the Note Input and Editing page of Preferences.
