What’s the best way to reduce MIDI latency in Cubase?

Hi everyone! I’ve been experiencing MIDI latency when using external controllers with Cubase Pro 12. I tried adjusting buffer sizes, but it didn’t fully solve it. Has anyone found a good setup for minimizing latency on Windows? Tips appreciated!

First question is what audio interface are you using and are you using the correct asio driver? Then how old is the computer and what size project when you are getting high latency? Cubase has a setting (forgot name asio delay compensation or something similar) which can help. Have you optimised your computer.

If by “MIDI latency” you mean “the time between I hit a key and the sound plays in my virtual instrument”, it could be possible caused by other plugins in your project with high latency. You need to activate “Constrain delay compensation”, which will (temporarily) deactivate high latency plugins.
