What's in Absolute 6 Full Version?

Hope I’m not overlapping with previous posts here, but I can’t find any clear info about exactly what’s in the full version of Absolute 6.
I already have Halion 6 and Groove Agent 5 and what I’m really after are more VST instruments - in particular guitars (M and T would be great!). So I’m just trying to find out what’s in Absolute 6 Full Version … while the sale’s on!
Are the contents listed anywhere, please?

Hi,

Please, use the correct tags.

Yes, here you go:

My apologies. I scrolled through the tags I could see and none seemed appropriate.

Thank you, Martin. Very helpful.

I also have a question in regard to this topic. So, I bought Absolute 6 and downloaded everything (I think) in the Steinberg Download Assistant that is related to Absolute 6, under the category “VST Instruments & Plugins”. Everything in that category is downloaded successfully except for “Content The Grand 3”. So I went ahead and downloaded an ISO, instead, and installed it manually. But I am not sure that I did it correctly. How do I check if I have everything from Absolute 6 installed correctly?

I already posted this question several days ago but no one replied: Absolute 6 download problems

Also a side question. How do I make sure that I have everything installed, that is related to the Absolute 6 package, that I am entitled to? Is there a specific folder I can check for size or content?

I know I can compare each VST in my DAW manually to the official list of Absolute 6 content, but as a new user of Absolute 6 I’m not even sure if there is any extra “free” content that I missed in the Download Manager.

I’ve read plenty of people complaining about Steinberg’s Download Manager and how it lets you download everything, even though you don’t have a license for it. To me it sounds extremely confusing. Because I would only like to download things that I already own and have access to, without paying anything extra.

I agree. I would also like some GUI indication of what content you own and what you don’t own. I suppose this would mean signing in so perhaps that’s too big an issue.

There is an Absolute 6 category, everything is listed in there. It should be the first option in the VST Instrument category.

I’ve added an image, I haven’t bought it yet so maybe when you have it goes into my products at the top.

From that screenshot list…where, for example. are the strings, world instruments, cinematique etc from Absolute 6?

Are they jumbled into “Halion content”?

Or show up on a further scroll down of that screenshot?

Or maybe at some other menu area of download manager?

Yes they are in the main Halion library I think.

No, it is not. Go to the official Steinberg Absolute page and where it shows the different features click on the “Load more features”. You will see things there like “HALiotron” (which appears to be something like a Mellotron), “Trium”, “model C” (Hammond organ) etc. - where are these?

Nevermind, found them under HALion content.

I hope Steinberg will revamp their download “assistant” soon. It’s one of the most confusing downloaders I have ever used. And Steinberg, themselves, also waste too much energy on supporting that illogical software.

They should make it easier to see what you own, to download only what you own (full versions, not demos) and get a better overview by maybe adding a search bar or something. And to be able to sort / filter content by categories (main software, VSTs, libraries, source files).

And make it compatible with High DPI (like Cubase and Wavelab). Getting headache, scrolling through a long list of items that are displayed with a tiny font. Jeez…

Also, it “recommends” you to download inferior versions of Halion and Groove Agent even if you have better ones. It’s just too much.

Now that Steinberg are selling plenty of products, they should be able to afford to fix all that and to plug the holes in their ship, so to speak. It’s things like these that scare away new customers, I think.

Hi everybody

So during my download of the Absolute 6, I’m missing a few products.
These are :
Skylab, Auron, Trium, Halitron, Hot Brass, Model C, Amped Electra, The Eagle, The Raven, World instruments and Studio Strings.
Do I have to install the ISO, to get these products?
As I see it they are a part of absolute 6.
I have written to Steinberg support, but to no help (21 days ago).
Hope someone knows about this issue

Hi Paw,
as far as I can tell, these libraries are part of the HALion Content library and not separate packages.

grafik

They are all part of the HALion Content package

No, the HALion package is all you need.

After you have installed the content you can find all of them in the Library Manager

Hi Guys
Thank you for your answers appreciate it a lot.
I did find the Amped Electra in the library, but not the others. So if I delete and reinstall Halion 7 all over again, they might be installed?

No, that’s not necessary. Do you have the package “Content HALion 7” installed? It seems, this one is missing. Maybe it helps to (re)install it with the Download Assistant.
Amped Electra is a separate download and is obviously installed. That’s why you see it listed in the Library Manager.

Hi Martin

I did actually have the Halion 7 content installed. Just tried to delete it and reinstall and now they are there  Hurray!!
Thank you for getting me on right track
