When I record my bass guitar using AI5 the sound is delayed?

When I record my bass guitar using Cubase AI 5 the sound is delayed :question: Which makes recording my self very difficult as you can imagine. I am using a Yamaha audiogram 6 which AI 5 came free with it. The spec of my laptop is 1.00 GB RAM Intel R T1400 1.73GHZ Processor. Thanks.
