Where are the templates stored in OSX?

Hopefully a simple question:

Does anyone know where the templates end up in OSX, when you save a doc as a template?
I take it a template doesn’t simply link to the source doc that were used to make it. So if I move, edit or delete the source doc, it won’t disrupt the template itself. Is that right?
Am trying to rationalise some templates I’ve created - and pare down my list of templates - without deleting any essential work.
Thanks
Sarah

Your created templates in OS X are at ~/Library/Application Support/Steinberg/Dorico/Project Templates/
(though you can also delete user templates from the Hub)

And yes, editing or deleting the source document used to create the template does not affect the template.

Late follow on here; is it possible to change this location to a network drive? I use dorico on multiple machines and this would be convenient!

I can see where to change the default locations for saving projects, backups, etc in the general settings, but specifying template locations must be elsewhere?

Thx

You can’t change the location: it always loads custom project templates from the Project Templates folder inside ~/Library/Application Support/Steinberg/Dorico 5/, but you can in theory replace the Project Templates folder with an alias or symbolic link to a folder located elsewhere.

Just checked the path to the folder for template storage. The path on my MBP ends as follows: x ~/Library/Application Support/Steinberg/Dorico 5/. All the templated are listed in the Hub, so where could they be?

I have the same problem. Not sure where the templates are stored. I want to make a change to one, but can’t find the source file.

If it’s a factory-supplied template, then there is no source file for you to change: those templates are generated using a “recipe” when you start a new project. But if you use File > Save as Project Template and specify the same name and category as the factory template, your custom template will take precedence over the factory template.
