Where Are VST Instruments on the PC

Where are the VST instruments stored on the pc file system ?
I’ve looked in program files and program data

in Windows, they should reside here:

(VST3, x64 only when using Cubase versions 9 and higher)

    (VST3, also x86 when using Cubase versions 8.5 and lower)
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\VST3
    .
    .
    (VST2: various paths, x64)
  • C:\Program Files\VstPlugins
  • C:\Program Files\Steinberg\VstPlugIns
  • C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST2
    (including any user-defined paths)
    .
    .
    (VST2: various paths, x86)
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\VstPlugins
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Steinberg\VstPlugins
    .
    .
    Related:
    (*.VSTSOUND, which are container files for samples, presets, etc.)
