Where is "C7; Make Chord Symbols" tool in C14 Score Editor?

Aha! I see a work around that accomplishes what I want, which is to allow me to record a midi track of chords from my piano keyboard and then have Cubase figure out the chord names and show them above the music in the score view.

  1. create a midi track and a chord track
  2. Record into the midi track from the piano keyboard
  3. Drag and drop the midi track into the chord track and cubase will analyze the midi track and put the chords in the chord track.
  4. Open the midi track in score view and voila, the chord names are now above the music.

I’m guessing everyone who cares already knew this so forgive my “enthusiasm for the obvious”.

It is not foolproof since Cubase doesn’t recognize some of my more obscure chords, eg Ebm7(sus2)
