Where is Score, Advanced Layout Menu is Score Editor in Cubase 14?

New to the Score feature and just trying to create a simple lead sheet.
All the web tutorials say to select Scores > Advanced Layout in the Cubase menu, * Check the “Show Chord Track”
Where is ADVANCED LAYOUT???

Even a search in the RTFM for “Advanced Layout” and “show chord track” comes up with NO RESULTS.

Thank you in advance. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Hi,

This was in older Cubase version, prior version 14, where is the new Score Editor available.

In Cubase 14: Score Editor > Layouts Settings > Layout > Chord Symbols… Here you can set, if you want to show the Chord Symbols:

  • Above Top Staff of System (default settings)
  • Above Specific Instrument’s Staves

Then in the Instrument tab, you can enable/disable the Show Chord Symbols option.

Thanks for the replies.
But how do I get rid of the treble and bass staff and just have a lead sheet w/ the measures and chords.

Thanks.

Hi,

I’m not 100% I understand your request. To select if you want to see the Treble or Bass or both clefs, select the correct instrument in the Layout Settings > Instrument > Instrument Type.

Thanks for the reply.
I Can get to the Layout Settings > Instrument > Instrument Type (Acoustic Guitar) and even have it display the TABs but all I need is the measure w/ chords no notation or tabs.

Specifically here’s what I need from Greg Ondo’s tutorial.

Just need the simple lead sheet like this:

Yes, I know that Greg’s using an older version of Cubase to do this. HOW do we do it in CUBASE 14??

Again, Thanks for the help!

Hi,

Add a MIDI Track with no notes.

Martin, That works.
Thanks!
