Where is the Edit Endpoint Configurations dialog

I am unable to locate the Edit Endpoint Configurations dialog mentioned on this page of the manual. I’ve tried using the Jump Bar, without success as “Edit Endpoint” does not invoke the dialog for this setting. Entering “Edit Endpoint” in the dynamic help system also fails to direct me to a menu option.

Help, please!

Cogwheel:

Then Lower left to save

Hi Jesper,

I need to delete rather than save and unless I am mistaken, the dialog you mention does not show this option…

Are you wanting to delete a VST instrument?

Ideally, I’d like to cleanse my system of all references to Superior Drummer 3 and start afresh.

Deleting playback templates is easy enough, but I have three endpoint configurations for SD3 and I can’t figure how to delete them.

At the moment, something peculiar is happening, SD3 is triggering other instruments unrelated to SD3 (ie NP sax) and I’m at a complete loss to understand why. It’s all very frustrating…

Click the pencil in the Playback Template dialog.
Then Endpoint configs in the lower left.

To be honest, there’s zero chance I would have found dialog this without your help - thank you!

@Lillie_Harris - it might be helpful to others if the manual could make clear where the Edit Endpoint Configurations dialog is located.

There is something here:

I searched for “Delete Endpoint” but the page returned did not include information about the location of the dialog:

Edit Endpoint Configurations dialog

The Edit Endpoint Configurations dialog allows you to rename and delete custom endpoint configurations, and view the plug-ins and players they contain.

  • You can open the Edit Endpoint Configurations dialog by clicking Endpoint Configurations in the Edit Playback Template dialog.

Edit Endpoint Configurations dialog

The Edit Endpoint Configurations dialog comprises the following:

  1. Endpoint configurations listContains all the endpoint configurations on your computer.Delete Endpoint Configuration [image] in the action bar at the bottom of the list allows you to delete the selected endpoint configuration from your computer.
  2. NameAllows you to set the name of the selected endpoint configuration that appears in the program; for example, in the Edit Playback Template dialog.
  3. Plug-ins and players listContains all the plug-ins and players contained within the selected endpoint configuration. If the endpoint configuration contains multiple instances of the same plug-in, each plug-in instance is listed separately.

It’s under the second answer, custom endpoint…

I’m really sorry, Jesper, but the second point would not have helped me either. It gives useful information and provides a link back to where I started (Edit Endpoint). I did spend 40 frustrating minutes trying to locate the information you kindly provided before posting to the forum…

Custom endpoint configurations

Custom endpoint configurations save the current state and settings of plug-ins in your project, such as the number and type of VST/MIDI instruments loaded and the instruments and expression/percussion maps assigned to endpoints.

You can save custom endpoint configurations that include the settings for all plug-ins currently loaded or only a single one.

Custom endpoint configurations are available in all projects you open or create on your computer. You can view, rename, and delete the custom endpoint configurations on your computer in the Edit Endpoint Configurations dialog.

You’re right, you have to click the link next.
I’m not saying that it’s easy to find, just how I found it.

I do appreciate your help, Jesper - thank you.

For completeness, this page includes instructions for how you can find the dialog, indented and bullet pointed near the top of the page:

This is our consistent style: bullet points near the start of reference topics tell you how to find the thing being described on the page.

If it’s a dialog that opens from inside another dialog, you will find information about that dialog linked in the Related Links section at the bottom of the page. Or, search the manual for the named dialog.
