Where is the Halion mediabay3.db file in cubase elements 14?

I have been using cubase elements 12 (mac) . When i bought a laptop, i copied the mediabay3.db file from the PREFERENCES folder on my desktop over to my laptop. I did this so that all my ratings could be ported to the laptop.

I just installed version 14 onto my laptop. my media bay has all the new ratings… if i make rating changes on my laptop (see why … following) i would copy the pref file over to my desktop… but i don’t see the mediabay3 in my elements 14 preference folder !

now…
the reason i am bringing this subject up is that i have just clicked on OPEN LOOP BROWER from the main menu (i don’t think i’ve ever done this before)…
when i open the loop browser, all the ratings are ‘3’, so the must be the factory defaults…
i would like to rate these patches and copy them to my desktop… but i don’t know where these ratings are stored…
seeing as i don’t see the mediabay3.db file in my elements 14 directory, i don’t even understand how the mediabay panel is getting updated ratings that i created using version 12… unless its looking at the elements 12 folder system… (maybe i should not delete elements 12)

Thats because Mediabay doesnt live in the Cubase preferences folder, it lives in its own MediaBay preferences folder that should be right by the Cubase one…

ok… i found something…

There is actually a mediabay3.db
here:
library>preferences>cubase elements 12>mediabay3.db
but is not in the equivalent version 14 folder.

and as i think you noted:, there is one here:
library>preferences>steinberg mediabay server> mediabay3.db

if i make a rating change in the loop browser or in the mediabay, i see in Finder that the .db file is updated.

so i don’t know what file in version 12 is doing… it must have been used as the database in the past because,
i did ask support when i bought the laptop and i had cubase 9.5. They told me to look in the cubase folder i highlighted above … when i copied that one over to my laptop, my laptop had the updated ratings…

so i suppose you have solved my issue !
thanks
