Where is the VST plugins folder on MAC?

Hi

This may seem obvious to most but being new to a Mac this is hard to figure for me.

I’ve been using PCs for years so things that were straightforward are driving me nuts!

I am using Cubase 7 and have just installed IVORY II.

When I used a PC I dropped the .dll file for IVORY into the VST folder…but this is different on a MAC and I can’t even find a way of locating the VST folder.

If anyone can guide me through it I would be eternally grateful!

Thanks

Best regards

Stu

root folder/library/audio/plugins/VST

make sure it’s your root folder (HD icon that usually sits on your desktop) not user folder. and on mac they are .vst files not .dll

Hi

Thanks for replying.

I found the folder and the IVORY.vst file is there (along with other .vst files)

When I open Cubase 7 though… IVORY is not listed, but the other programs with .vst files in the folder are showing.

Any ideas why IVORY isn’t showing?

Thanks

Stuart

Aloha s,

1-I am curious about this thread because Ivory was to be my next purchase.

2-Also yours is a great question for the folks who make Ivory.
Have you asked them about this?

3-After reading your post I think I’ll put off buying Ivory for a while.

Hi

Yes I have contacted Synthogy several times but still awaiting their reply

I appreciate it’s the weekend so may have to wait until Monday now, unless anyone here can help?

Thanks

Stuart

Have you tried rescanning your plugins? For some reason my Ivory II disappeared when I updated to 7.02 but the program found it again on rescanning.

Hi

What’s the process for scanning them?

Thanks

Stuart
