Which Cubasis do I purchase?

I purchased a Yamaha THR30II amplifier. The amp includes “Cubasis LE” and some sort of version was detected when I had the hardware connected.

Do I now have the “full version” of Cubasis? Meanwhile, I see an in-app purchase available for $18. However, the separate Cubasis app is available for purchase at $30.

My related questions are:

  • Does the Yamaha THR30II include the “full version” of Cubasis, or is it some sort of upgraded LE version, but not quite the full version?
  • If so, why is there an $18 IAP available, and why is the $18 IAP cheaper than buying the standalone $30 Cubasis?

Yamaha’s THR30II amplifier comes bundled with Cubasis LE for iOS/iPadOS.

You can download Cubasis LE for free from the App Store. It will unlock from demo mode when you connect a bundled device (such as the THR) to your iOS device and launch Cubasis LE.

Once Cubasis LE is unlocked as described above, you can purchase the Full Feature Set in-app purchase in the Cubasis in-app shop. This IAP adds all features of Cubasis at a reduced price. However, please note that the app’s name and icon will remain Cubasis LE.

Currently, the Full Feature Set IAP is available at a discounted price as part of our current app sales promo (ending January 7, 2026).

Hi @LSlowak , thank you for the information. Is the reason that the IAP in Cubasis LE for me is $18 due to having the Yamaha amp? The App Store IAP list has both a $18 and a $30 “Full Feature Set” IAP purchase. Yet, I see that the separate (and discounted) Cubasis app is $30.

Which App Store list are you referring to?

Did you unlock the Cubasis LE version or does it run in demo mode still?

What price is shown for the Full Feature Set (FFS) in the Cubasis in-app store of your Cubasis LE version (once unlocked via the THR)?

Hi @LSlowak , this is the iOS App Store. I believe I unlocked the “full” LE version (though not the “Full Feature Set” of Cubasis) as that’s what’s included with the Yamaha amp. The Full Feature Set (FFS) shows as $18 within the Cubasis LE version.

You can only unlock the LE version.

The Full Feature Set in-app purchase upgrades LE to include all Cubasis features, at 40% off the regular price until January 7, 2026.

But to clarify again, where is the $30 price stated?

Hi @LSlowak , in the iOS App Store for the United States, the “Cubasis” app (not Cubasis LE) is showing as $30. I would imagine that the “Full Feature Set” IAP in Cubasis LE, currently priced at $18, would be the same features as the separate Cubasis app.

$18 is your benefit because the THR was bundled with Cubasis LE.
This in-app purchase upgrades Cubasis LE to include the same features as Cubasis. However, the name and icon will remain “Cubasis LE.
