I pulled in a MusicXML file, then copied sections from that to this project. I have been working to reduce four parts to three. There are may times when the lower staff does not show rests, including whole measure rests. A good example is measures 266-end.
How do I get rests to display?
How would I look up something like that in the manual?

If you select the note before the missing rest and open the bottom Properties panel, you’ll see that the Ends Voice property is toggled on; this is what causes rests to be hidden. (If you ever use Dorico’s Remove Rests command to explicitly hide rests, this is exactly what it uses.)
If you toggle the property off for those notes, the rests will show up.
If you want to do them all at once, you can Select All, filter for notes and chords, and then toggle the property off.
