Happy to report that with the 2.2.31.353 Pre-release on Windows 11, the issue seems resolved.
Note, I’ve made a few adjustments to my system and workflow as well.
- I made sure no other apps were accessing the MIDI Device streaming to the Fantom. In my case a custom USB<>MIDI FANTOM-X driver for windows supplied by Roland (some hacking required to get it to install on Windows 11, the drivers are fine, it’s the installer that needs help). No apps are sending MIDI to this device, nor monitoring its MIDI inputs/outputs but Live2.
- I did a “Help/Clean All User Data” and wiped everything in my VSTLive %Documents% Folder to start fresh.
- I’ve been setting up a Layer and Stack for the Fantom first. Next I do a “create track” from the layer MIDI input popup and then import my MIDI file(s) using the “Import” icon in the second tool bar of the TRACKS tab.
Given this approach Live2 is now allowing me to take advantage of sequences and loops with my ‘out of the box’ instruments. Thanks Steinberg!
