My cubase 13 always seem to start on safe mode even though it was properly saved and closed the previous time. Any idea why it happens?
I would start by checking in the folder below for a dump file and post your most recent one or two (if present) on here so someone can check for you.
C:\Users{User name}\Documents\Steinberg\CrashDumps
(not sure why, but the forum software doesn’t display the backslash between Users and {User name}, but make sure you add it)
There is a good probability that it is a dodgy plugin causing your issue, so you might want to try checking the “Deactivate all third party plugins” box next time. Then close and re-open Cubase and see if you still get this screen.
Post your crash dump and people should be able to let you know what the issue is. I did this recently, and found out it was the latest incarnation of Native Instruments Maschine that was messing with Windows and causing a crash when I quit Cubase. NI changed the copy protection for the program a while back, and it’s been a mess ever since. Since deleting Maschine from the computer I haven’t had another safe mode start up for Cubase.
