I have mixed my audio on WaveLab Cast, but when I render it the sound is completely different - the sound in the rendered version (mp3) ends up clipping and the effects I added are lost. I am new to sound editing and have no idea how to go about this. Thank you so much in advance!
Are you using the very latest version? I think a bug was recently fixed in this area:

I forgot to say, the audio clips and ends up being distorted even without any effects, when exporting the raw recording.
It sounds like an incorrect setting somewhere but there is not really enough information here to provide any other guidance.
This looks like clipping. Are you mixing to mono?

It could be that converting the stereo signal to a mono file is causing the increase in gain as PG suggested.
